What is the Owingsville Elementary 5K Color Run/Walk?
How is this run different?
Sure, there are all sorts of runs. We take it to the next level (because isn't that what Americans do?) You will get completely covered in colorific dust with friends, family, and silly strangers, while focusing more on the different color fun and participating in the three mile course. Doesn't matter how fast or old you are, but instead, getting up on the start line to get covered in color and help a great cause!
The Color
The Owingsville Elementary 5K Color Run/Walk course will designate different parts of the course color zones in which copious amounts of color will be blasted upon you! The different colors are 100% natural and safe, as you can eat the stuff if you want, but we don't suggest it (we will be serving food, so you can get something to eat after the run). Last year was our first year, so we had a bit of a learning curve. This year will be BRIGHTER and more COLORFUL than ever!
The After Party
At the end of the three mile run, prepare to cool down at our after party. We will have food, music, and fun on the lawn of the Bath County High School Football Field. Stick around, celebrate your accomplishment, and most importantly, have some fun!
WHAT'S NEW THIS YEAR?!
Well, first of all, MORE COLOR! Our goal this year is to kick up the color! Last year was our first year putting on this race (or ANY type of race for that matter) and well, you live and, most importantly, you LEARN! So first up, expect the color to be amped up and brighter than ever!. Second, this year we WILL be keeping times for those of you who are avid runners and just need to know. This was our most requested change from last year. We heard you, we listened, and we changed! So, expect a timer at the finish line. Third, this year we will be giving away even more prizes! There will be prizes given for a variety of categories, the most anticipated? BEST COSTUME! So grab your friends and start planning!
